How it works
A value bet appears when a soft bookmaker prices a selection higher than the probability implied by a sharp line with the margin removed. This site is a sample of that comparison.
Fair probability
Fair odds are the reference price from a book such as Pinnacle or Betfair after the margin is removed. Fair probability is the inverse of that price.
p = 1 / fairOdds
Expected value
EV is positive when the soft-book odds on the same pick are higher than the fair odds.
EV% = (odds × p − 1) × 100
Kelly
The Kelly fraction is the share of the bankroll that matches the edge. A negative fraction is shown as zero.
f = max(0, (b × p − (1 − p)) / b), b = odds − 1
